REVLON BY MARCHESA 3D JEWEL APPLIQUES NAIL ART

REVLON BY MARCHESA

LIMITED EDITION

NAIL ART

3D JEWEL APPLIQUES

REVLON BY MARCHESA NAIL ART

Welcome again to another installment of Luxe Friday and this is a special one! Can we really get any more Luxe than a collaboration with Marchesa and Revlon. I want to express my excitement and pure joy when I was at CVS and saw these appliqués, the biggest smile came upon my face. I am the Biggest Fan of Marchesa and of Georgina Chapman. I think she is a woman to look up to in so many ways. If I met her, I would probably be speechless. I have met a few famous people in my life and I don't get "starstruck". When I look up to somebody and admire them, it's a whole different story. When her line "Pearl by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa" first came to JCPenny, I was so thrilled. I was the first one there when it launched trying on everything, taking pictures and of course buying many wonderful outfits. I am going to be wearing one of the Blazer/Shorts Combination Suits this weekend, so stay tuned for my First Fashion Blog including that outfit. Now on to the Nail Art.

Here is the Skinny on the Nail Art from Revlon:

This limited edition collection of intricate, textured nail appliques is inspired by couture house Marchesa’s signature designs.
Available in 8 red-carpet ready shades at Walgreens, CVS, and select retailers nationwide through Fall 2013.

HOW TO APPLY:
1. Select the size that best fits nail.
2. Applique should not touch skin or cuticle. Press applique firmly over entire surface of nail.
3. Fold remaining applique over natural tip and remove excess material by filing in a sideways motion in one direction.

The Eight Shades:

  • ABOUT MARCHESA:

Marchesa’s elegant eveningwear, inspired by vintage silhouettes with a modern aesthetic was co-founded by Georgina Chapman and Kere Craig in 2004. The company’s namesake and muse is the noted eccentric European style icon, Marchesa Luisa Casati. With Casati’s vision of fashion meets art in mind, Chapman has paired her expertise in design and draping to craft collections with both distinctive and iconic style.
British natives Chapman and Craig met at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Chapman, a 2001 graduate of the Wimbledon School of Art, began her career as a costume designer. Craig graduated from Brighton Art College in 2000 and subsequently focused on print and embroidery design.

"When we were first approached by Revlon about a potential collaboration, Keren and I were really excited about the chance to partner with an iconic brand that believes, as we do, in making a woman feel beautiful while remaining true to herself. Through Revlon’s incredible global reach, we will be able to bring a little piece of Marchesa to women around the world," said Georgina Chapman, Marchesa Co-Founder and Designer.

Here are the Three Nail Art Designs that I purchased:

    "CROWN JEWELS"
    "ROYAL BURGUNDY"
    "GILDED MOSAIC"

I only just recently purchased the nail art so I have only worn "Royal Burgundy" for about a day. So far they have stayed on perfectly and have not peeled or chipped at all. I have worn many nail art stickers that have pealed within hours so this is a good sign. I cannot wait to show them off this weekend. I also find the designs to be so beautiful that I almost do not want to wear the rest. I already know that I am going to have to go and buy more, because these designs are just way to beautiful to only wear once. This collaboration is very special to me and I want to experience it as much as I can.

Easy to Apply Directions on Back.
I had absolutely no problem following the easy to apply directions on the back of the box. It even comes with a mini nail file, buffer and cuticle stick. I did try out both and they worked great! Including these items, make these appliqués so travel friendly.

Comes with 18 Appliques in Various Sizes to Fit Your Nails.
Also Includes Mini File, Buffer, and Cuticle Stick.
    Perfect for Traveling.
Oh My! My Exact Revlon by Marchesa Appliqués
spotted in my InStyle Magazine's September Fall Fashion Issue.
    Soooo Marchesa!
    Final Thoughts:

These Nail Art 3d Jewel Appliqués are so beautiful, but I would not expect anything less from Marchesa. How fabulous is it to say that you are wearing Marchesa on your nails. I honestly think these are the most beautiful nail art designs that I have ever seen. I really hope that they do a winter collection. I hope that you enjoyed this post and I hope that you dress up your nails with a little Marchesa soon.

    Update:

I wanted to let you know that the Appliques lasted me a full week. I wore them a full 7 days before I removed them. I could of probably even wore them a few more days. They were just beginning to slightly chip at the top edge, where I am the roughest with my nails. I am very impressed with how long they lasted and the quality from beginning to end. They were also very easy to remove, I grabbed an edge of the appliqué and pealed them off. That was it! I also wanted to mention the numerous compliments that I received on them, but I wasn't suprised. I can't wait to wear another design!

    Thanks,

Bed Bath and Beyond Face Values Foaming Hand Soap

    BED BATH & BEYOND
    Harmon Face Values
    Foaming Hand Wash

Available at Bed, Bath and Beyond

This might seem like a silly post because it is on a hand wash and by no means is the packaging glamorous or even unique, but it is by far the best foaming hand wash I have ever used. I used to use liquid hand soap years ago, but than I switched to foaming hand wash and never looked back. The only thing about liquid hand wash that I did miss, was the feeling that you got after using it. That it really cleansed your hands because of a more direct contact with your hands and the liquid soap. Unlike liquid soap, foaming hand soap is more of a different feeling, it is very foamy and airy. You just pump the foam, rub it on you hands and rinse. I was at Bed Bath and Beyond a few weeks ago and I picked up some "Face Values" Foaming Hand Wash in the Harmon Beauty/Health Section. There was really no reason for the purchase besides the fact that I was almost out of hand soap and knew it was on my list.

Much more Creamier than your usual Foaming Soap!

I purchased the Qt size so that I could refill all my bathrooms soap dispensers. I got home and refilled my master bathroom first and had to pull it back out from under the sink to make sure I had bought the correct soap. I knew I had bought hand soap, but I could not believe how creamy yet still foaming the hand soap was. It had a much thicker, creamier and luxurious feeling to it. It left my hands feeling much cleaner after. I will never go back to buying any other brand of foaming hand soap. I love it so much that I am hoarding it in my master bathroom (where I wash my hands most) until I buy more.

    Final Thoughts:

I know this post is just on hand soap, but we have to remember to take care of our hands for many reasons. The more I wash my hands, the more I put hand cream on. It's kind of a ritual that I do together. The more moisturized you keep your hands, the younger looking they are going to look. It is especially important to get into the habit of frequently washing your hands this time of year, the flu season. It is not only important to wash your hands frequently to keep yourself from getting sick, but also to stop the spread of germs. I hope this post helped if you are looking for a new hand soap to try out that is of great quality at a great price. Most of all, I hope it reminds you to wash you hands this flu season so you and others don't get sick.

    Thanks,

Here is what I bought from the Collection with a description from COVERGIRL and my thoughts:

    Flamed Up Mega Curl Mascara:

Flamed Out Mega Curl Mascara in Very Black Blaze
    • Max curl and volume instantly
    • Curl Igniter brush adds volume and curl to every lash
    • Smudge and flake resistant
This mascara does everything that it promises. It instantly curled my eye lashes and the curl kept up nicely during the day. It never smudged or budged and was easy to remove. It also did not clump and the brush wand was easy to use.

The Brush wand: It is a bit short and thick, but I had no
    trouble using it at all!
    Flamed Out Shadow Pencil:

Flamed Out Shadow Pencil: "Gold Flame 330" & "Silver Flame 300"
    • Gel shadow and liner in one
    • Ten hot, blendable shades
    • Creamy formula for smooth application

I like using these Shadow Pencils as either a bold thick liner or as a shadow. I think they work best when used over eyeshadow to pop their color. When I wore them plain, just over an eye primer, I had to really layer the pencil to get the color to pop. I have to say even when wore plain, the Gold Flame was still very pretty on my eyes as a more muted tone.

    Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Gloss:

Smoochies Sizzle Gloss in "Glow For It 556"
    • Sheer color, moisture, and shimmer shine
    • 100% smoochable lips
    • In 12 irresistible shades

I have to say this gloss and the next nail polishes were by far my favorite from the collection. I love this Gloss So Much! It is the most beautiful color especially for fall, it goes on so well and it is so Pigmented. Usually I do not get much color from glosses that come in these types of tubes, so I was extremely surprised! I will definitely be going back for more Smoochies. I just love the name too!!

"Gold Flame" Shadow Pencil, "Silver Flame" Shadow Pencil,
"Glow For it" Smoochies Sizzle Gloss Swatched

    Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Glosstinis:

This Limited Edition Glosstinis Colors  are Amazing!
    "Sulfur Blaze 600" & "Seared Bronze 630"
    • Limited edition colors
    • Perfectly portable size
    • Glossy color lasting up to one week
I love these little mini nail polishes. I bought four of the limited edition colors from the Collection so I will post on the other two colors once I use them. I can't say enough about how much fun they are to put on and wear. There is a slight trick when painting to create the look. You have to apply two coats on one Glosstini, followed by a matte Outlast Stay Brilliant coat on the top half of your nails (matte polish pictured in back), finish by applying the other Glosstini just in between the matte shade and your cuticle. It seems tricky reading it, but it wasn't.

    The Two Glosstini Colors on!
    Final Thoughts:

I love the COVERGIRL Capital Collection!! I was so impressed with the Glosstinis and Smoochies Sizzle Gloss that I literally want to run out right now and buy more. I have also recently discovered that they are also nail stickers in the collection, so hopefully I will be getting those too. I hope that you enjoyed this post, the COVERGIRL Capitol Collection and I hope that you are excited for the "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" Movie in Theaters November 22!!

    Thanks,
